The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of the Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group was held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 7:30 PM, at Kazansky's Deli in Squirrel Hill, the regular presiding officer being in the chair and the Secretary being present. The minutes of the [[WPLUGBoard/Meeting-20090303|March 3, 2009 meeting]] were approved as read.

The Chair reported that he met with John Wallace of the Kingdom Village Community Development Corporation which is developing a community center in Homewood. This is planned to include a small recording studio and computer lab.

The Vice-Chair reported that he had placed a notice for the upcoming General User Meeting with the City Paper. He also reported discussions about a social gathering called the Technology Mashup that was in the planning stages. He said a date and location for this was likely to be announced soon.

The Secretary reported that WPLUG currently has 26 members.

The Treasurer reported that there is currently $140 cash on hand and $545.87 in the checking account. He reported he has not yet met with Dollar Bank to get details about possibly moving WPLUG's account there.

The Program Committee reported that the Wilkins School Community Center was not available to host the June 6, 2009 installfest, so it will be held at the Brookline branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.

David Kraus moved "to authorize the board members to spend $10 each to obtain business cards." After debate, the motion was adopted.

David Kraus moved "to give away the machine formerly hosting the wplug.ece.cmu.edu wiki as a door prize at the April 4, 2009 General User Meeting." The motion was adopted.

Michael Semcheski moved "to appoint a committee consisting of David Kraus, Nicholas Schembri, and Beth Lynn Eicher to make arrangements for establishing network access at the Wilkins School Community Center." The motion was adopted.

Michael Semcheski moved "to appoint a committee to be chaired by Michael Semcheski to assist the Kingdom Village Community Development Corporation with setting up a computer lab; with the committee chair given the power to appoint additional members." The motion was adopted.

David Kraus moved "that the 2009 nomination meeting be held on September 19 and the 2009 election meeting be held on October 31." The motion was adopted.

The meeting adjourned at 8:19 PM.
