The regular monthly meeting of the Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group was held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 in 3002 Newell-Simon Hall, Carnegie Mellon University, the regular presiding officer being in the chair and the Secretary being present.

The Secretary requested that anyone having questions about or needing to renew membership see her.

The Treasurer reported that the bank account balance is healthy.

Ted Rodgers asked that anyone needing a particular distribution for the upcoming Installfest request it ahead of time and he will burn a copy.

The Internet Committee reported that the wiki is not yet up and running properly on the new host. Moving other services is also ongoing. The existing machine (penguin) is generating error messages although it appears to work fine from the outside, so we should move ASAP.

The Newsletter Committee put out an appeal for more content.

The ErieLUG Revival Committee reported that ErieLUG could use speakers if anyone is interested in presenting there.

The meeting adjourned at 11:00am.

WPLUG will have a general users meeting and presentation on Saturday, March 29th, starting at 10am on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University, Newell Simon Hall 3002.

"Uses of OpenLDAP" and "Two-Factor Authentication" - Brian Seklecki

OpenLDAP is a network directory service which can be used for centralized authentication (1, 2) of user logins comparable to Sun's NIS or Microsoft's Active Directory.

Brian will also speak about two-factor authentication, such as that provided using Entrust USB tokens.
