UPDATE: MEETING ROOM CHANGED TO 1109!

The fourth InstallFest of 2007 will be held on August 10, 2007 from 10am to 5pm at Carnegie Mellon University, 1109 Newell-Simon Hall. An installfest is an interactive event where you bring your computer to either show off some neat aspect of Linux, or seek help about getting Linux running on your hardware.

The theme for this installfest is OpenSolaris. According to Sun, "The OpenSolaris project is an open source project sponsored by Sun Microsystems, Inc, that is initially based on a subset of the source code for the Solaris Operating System. It is a nexus for a community development effort where developers from Sun and elsewhere can collaborate on developing and improving operating system technology. The OpenSolaris source code will find a variety of uses, including being the basis for future versions of the Solaris OS product, other operating system projects, and third-party products and distributions."

We plan to have a server set up locally to perform network installs of the OpenSolaris Developer Preview as well as CD media.
