Speaker/Presentation[edit]

Speakers: Klaatu and Snack Machine

Linus Torvalds himself once famously whined that KDE 4 had driven him to Gnome. Klaatu and Snackie take on the roles of KDE4 apologists, outlining why KDE is actually really kool, helps you get more work done more efficiently, and is in fact the Desktop Of The Future, and even exemplifies the very ideal of a unixy desktop. Cake will be served.

The talk will cover things like...plasma, customizing kicker, kRunner and what it can do, configuring kRunner, plasmoids, desktop settings, system settings, integration integration integration, the Great Lack of Mono, neat K Apps, the concept of Activities, akonadi, upcoming features, solid, phonon, and so on.

A recording of Klaatu's presentation is now available on the Internet Archive.
